Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma Gets Hitched in Italy!

Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma got hitched in Italy, they said in a statement, ending weeks of frenzied speculation that they were getting hitched. “Today we have promised each other to be bound in love forever. We are truly blessed to share the news with you,” the celebrity couple said, adding that it had been a “beautiful day”.

Their wedding was a closed affair and attended by only close family and friends. The wedding was as per Hindu rituals.

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma declared regarding their beautiful day by posting pictures on Instagram and Twitter late on Monday. Different pictures came on the Monday evening which had them smiling and dressed in colourful Indian Shadi Attire. The pastel pink outfits were created by much-admired Indian fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee.

It is been heard that the couple will host a reception in New Delhi for relatives on December 21, followed by a celebration in Mumbai on December 26 to be attended by Bollywood stars and cricketers..

They will live in Mumbai, the home of India’s Hindi film industry, it said.

Rumours of their awaiting wedding started swirling recently when Kohli pulled out of India’s limited-overs matches against Sri Lanka and Sharma also ducked out of her busy acting schedule in December.

Indian TV channels addressed their vows as the “wedding of the year”.

Virat and Anushka started dating after a filming a shampoo advertisement together. Kohli is one of the world’s highest-paid cricketers and a huge star in cricket-obsessed India, and Sharma is one of the top actresses in the country.

Stars from the world of Bollywood and cricket were quick to congratulate the new husband and wife.

“Many congratulations to @AnushkaSharma and @imVkohli on their wedding. God bless and welcome to the club!” tweeted actor Abhishek Bachchan.

“Congratulations and best wishes to the just married @imVkohli and @AnushkaSharma. You both look wonderful together. #Virushka,” Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar wrote on Twitter.
