VHP, Bajrang Dal members held for threatening couples in Gujarat on valentines day

About 10 activists of the VHP and its member Bajrang Dal were kept on Wednesday after they supposedly attempted to pursue away youthful couples who had assembled at the Sabarmati Riverfront here on the Valentine’s Day. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) asserted it just requested that the couples leave the recognize, a mainstream home base place for adolescents, and that its individuals did not assault anybody.
On getting data about the activity of the conservative outfits at the riverfront, the police hurried to the spot and arrested the individuals who were debilitating the couples and requesting that they leave. An authority at the zone-1 police here said they confined around 10 individuals from the spot.
“We have confined a few people, and sent satisfactory police compel at the spot to keep any untoward occurrence amid the day,” Sabarmati Riverfront Police Station reviewer S J Baloch said. The city unit of the VHP yesterday said it would organize dissents on the riverfront against the Valentines’ Day festivity which, the outfit guaranteed, was “against the Indian culture”.
Assuming liability for the occurrence, VHP media organizer for north Gujarat, Hemendra Trivedi, stated, “As declared by us, the VHP and Bajrang Dal individuals today held dissents at the riverfront.
