RANCHI: During a hearing to decide on the quantum of sentence in the fodder scam case involving Lalu Prasad, convict RJD President did not miss to crack a hilarious one when he told the special CBI judge Shivpal Singh that it is “too cold in jail”. To this, Singh quickly replied, “Then, play tabla(musical instrument)“. A special court earlier delayed the sentencing of Prasad in the fodder scam case by one day when it is expected to make a decision whether to articulate the quantum of punishment over video conference or in court.
The judge added a comment that the RJD chief did not act at the appointed time on which Lalu Prasad in his typical style said: “I am also an advocate.”The RJD chief is an LLB from Patna University. The judge also informed Lalu Prasad about the disrespect notices to RJD leader Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, Prasad’s son and former Bihar deputy chief minister Tejaswi Yadav, Congress leader Manish Tiwari and RJD leader Shivanand Tiwari. On this, the RJD chief requested him to slump the notices. Before being taken away from the courtroom, Lalu Prasad urged the judge to think with a “cool mind”.
