A 12-year-old student in Bhopal, unhappy with the death of her pet rat, allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in her house. Ayodhya Nagar police station in-charge Baljeet Singh said, “Saddened due to the death of her pet white rat, Divyanshi Rathore committed suicide by hanging herself in the room.” She used to live in the Surabhi Vihar premises in Ayodhya town area of the city and was a seventh grade student at St. Paul’s School.
He said that according to the family of the deceased, this rat was brought by her father Mahendra Singh Rathore four to five days ago and she got very attached with this rat. On Friday morning, this rat died suddenly, causing her to become very depressed. Singh told that before taking such a terrible step like hanging, she buried this rat in the courtyard of her house and paid tribute with flowers.
