E-commerce gigantic Flipkart’s Founders Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal have incorporated a new-fangled company named Sabin Advisors on December 8, 2017. The company’s name ‘Sabin’ has been derived from their founding members’ names — Sa(chin) and Bin(NY). This does not specify any particular business it plans to get into. According to a Business report, there is a likelihood with the intention of the cofounders that all their investments are routed through this new venture and may look at other businesses over an episode.
Notably, the founders have invested in several ventures together with a total funding of $26 million and $32 million respectively. According to business intelligence platform, paper, a filing with the registrar of companies shows that the company was incorporated on December 7 and lists out diverse businesses as its objective, including a foray into online ventures.Their existing portfolio includes a number of startups from diverse domains such as edtech platform Unacademy, two-wheeler startup Ather Energy, Sightuple, Inshorts among others. A Flipkart spokesperson said she has no immediate information about the contours of the new venture.
