Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor wishes to visit Pakistan once before dying. Recently, he tweeted – I’m 65 years old and I want to see Pakistan before I die. I want my children to see their heritage. Kapoor’s ancestral house is located in Peshawar city of Pakistan. It was built between 1918 and 1922 by Devan Bassevarnath Kapoor, the father of Prithviraj Kapoor. Kapoor family came to India after partition in 1947.
However, Rishi Kapoor made these tweets after the statement of former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Farooq Abdullah. He said that Jammu and Kashmir needs more autonomy and he condemned those who demand freedom. Writing an answer to Abdullah, Rishi said, ‘Abdullah ji, salam! I fully agree with you. Jammu Kashmir is ours and the portion of Kashmir under control of Pakistan is theirs. This is the only way we can solve this problem. Accept it.’
