Royal Enfield adds ThunderX to the Thunder family.

New Delhi,

The widely popular mid-size motorbike producer in India, Royal Enfield, launched an all-new series of its popular cruiser – the Thunderbird X on this Wednesday. The new motorbike is available in 350cc and 500cc variants both, Valued at Rs 1.57 lakh and Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively.

Upgrades in the motorcycle are obviously visible, starting with the new exciting colour options including red and white for the Thunderbird 350X whereas blue and orange for the 500X. The lower body of both the motorbikes has been finished in matte black along with the front forks.

Rudratej (Rudy) Singh, President, Royal Enfield, said: “the Thunderbird X is a custom inspired Royal Enfield, that takes inspiration from the Thunderbird community”.

“We took that inspiration and have created an evocative, engaging, yet fun to ride factory-built custom-look motorcycle that will offer great scope for further customization and will appeal to new-age urban explorers,” he added.

The new version is focused on urban cruising so a few design changes have been accommodated to provide the bike with better street handling capabilities.

Another major change is the new eight-spoke alloy wheels which change the classic wire-spoke type ones.

There is no modification in the powertrains and both the 350cc and the 500cc engines continue to bring the same output. The minor thumper offers 19.8PS of power and 28Nm of torque while the bigger one produces 27.2PS and a peak torque of 41.3Nm.

The Thunderbird X is going to continue the feature of 41mm front telescopic forks, gas-charged rear suspension, and disc brake on both front and rear wheels, like the standard model.
