Master plan of Modi: Relief packages for sugarcane farmers in UP

After facing defeat in the by-election by the Kairana, Modi government has announced to spare the remaining Rs.20000 crore for the relief of the farmers of sugarcane farming, as well as the government, has abolished the export tax on sugar. Announcing a relief package for sugarcane growers, Modi said that 30 lakh tonnes of sugarcane buffer stock will be made of sugarcane. The All India Kisan Sangharsh Samiti reacted to the government’s reaction saying that the influence of Kairana is behind this.

Uttar Pradesh is the largest producer of sugarcane in India. The sugar cane land covers an area ranging from western UP to central UP. There are about 40 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh, which are the major sugarcane producer.

In 2014 Lok Sabha elections, BJP and its allies won 73 out of 80 seats in UP. All the seats in the sugarcane land were named in the BJP, but the defeat of the Kairana seat has forced the BJP to think.

There is growing anger against the BJP in the farmers and the Opposition is uniting against Modi. In this way, the Modi government has knocked down these master stores to make sugarcane growers happy and to make their place again in the heart of farmers.

In fact, the issue of sugarcane was very strong at the time of the by-election in Kairana. There were many opposition parties which supported it. About 20000 crore rupees have not been paid to the farmers of the country belonging to sugarcane farming. Political experts believe that this was one of the main reasons for the defeat of BJP in Kairana.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath talked about paying the farmers within 14 days during the rally in Shamli, but even though the farmers did not believe him and Tabassum Hasan of RLD won there.

The highest production of 145.39 million tonnes of the cane is from UP. Maharashtra is second with 72.26 million tonnes. The BJP wants to change the results of the Lok Sabha elections, which have forced them to come up with this plan.

After Maharashtra, Karnataka is at number three with 34.48 million tonnes of cane production. Tamilnadu is at number four with 26.50 million tonnes. Farmer’s forgiveness is a big issue, this issue can help to defeat the opponents.
