Kapil Mohan, who made the famous Rum brand Old Monk, has passed away. He was quite sick for a long time. 88-year-old Kapil Mohan was the chairman of Mohan Mikin Limited. According to reports, Kapil Mohan has died due to heart attack. His company makes many more drinks other than rum. Kapil Mohan has lived in the Army and he took retirement as a Brigadier. In 2010, he received the Padma Shri award.

Kapil Mohan launched Old Monk Rum in 1954. This rum was popular not only in India but in the whole world. This was the best-selling rum in the whole world at that time. The brand also became popular because its prices were very low and people also liked the taste. His company tried hands at other fields as well, like glass factory, fruit-juice products, snack food, cold storage, etc. But none of it could achieve as much fame as the Old Monk.
