Commonwealth Games 2018 Fifth Day and India’s Fifth Consecutive Medal. Jitu Rai Scores a Gold Medal in 10m Air pistol shooting game. On other the hand, Mitharval Settles for Bronze the Belmont Shooting Centre on day five of the Gold Coast CWG

Jitu scored a total of 235.1 in the final performing at fifth position.

Australia’s Kerry Bell tried his best but could only score 233.5 with a silver medal, while Mitharval had to settle for just bronze with 214.3

India till now has bagged 16 medals in total with 9 medals in weightlifting and Shooters with these two new medals gets to 7.

The Nepal-born Jitu competed in his first CWG and clinched gold on debut in the men’s 50m pistol event. He started by creating a CWG record in the qualification round of the 50m pistol event with 562 points and went on to win gold, scoring 194.1 points in the final, which was another record.
