
Petrol and diesel prices were actually cut by 1 paisa per litre each in the capital city of Delhi on Wednesday instead of a bigger cut that was reported earlier by India’s largest fuel retailer.
Earlier in the morning, its website said that petrol and diesel prices have been cut by 60 paise and 56 paise per litre respectively.

In Delhi, petrol price has come down by 1 paisa to Rs 78.42 per liter and diesel at Rs 69.30 per liter. The price of petrol in Kolkata is Rs 81.05. In Mumbai, Rs 86.23 per liter and Chennai Rs 81.42 per liter.
At around 11 o’clock in the morning, the company said in a statement that petrol and diesel have been cheaper by only 1 paisa/liter. This is the first time that petrol and diesel prices have decreased in 16 consecutive days. In past few days, petrol was costlier by Rs 4 and diesel was up by three rupees.
Petrol will now cost Rs 3.91 a liter and diesel will cost Rs 3.38 per liter.
