Anti-terror meet to be held in Islamabad, India will mark presence

India is supposed to mark its presence in the upcoming meeting against terrorism that will be held in Islamabad. Conference is held under the banner of Shanghai cooperation organization (SCO). Since Pakistan became the member of organization, it is organizing its first conference.

Experts from the 8 SCO member states – China, Kazakhstan, India, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Pakistan – as well as representatives of the SCO-Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (SCO-RATS) will participate in the three-day meeting beginning on Wednesday, it said in a statement.

The experts are meeting to discuss the terrorism faced by the area and the steps taken to eradicate it and the further processing against the terrorism.

The FO said that it supports SCO’s efforts for regional cooperation in fighting terrorism, drug trafficking and organized crime.”We are ready to share our experiences in tackling the menace of terrorism through the SCO-RATS,” according to the FO.

Since India boycotted the SAARC conference that was supposed to be held in Islamabad in the year 2016 due to its belief of continuous support to terrorism by Pakistan, this time India’s presence would definitely be marked as significant and might be proved helpful in maintaining peace among the two countries.

But then again India sticks to its statement about no participation until helping hands towards terrorism is withdrawn.
